Dos Palmas

A Vacation Home in Patagonia

Book a stay

Dos Palmas is a lovingly restored 1958 Spartan “Imperial Villa” trailer located in the heart of Patagonia, Arizona. Built by the Spartan Aircraft Co. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, this travel home is indeed the same style as the one Luci & Desi used to tour the US in the film “The Long Long Trailer”.

The Backstory

The trailer was purchased new and put on a double town lot in Patagonia in 1959. The restoration process began in 1999 when it was purchased from the estate of the original owner by two local conservationists. The property is now proudly owned and managed by a multi-generational family all of whom call Patagonia home.

The Particulars

Our version serves as a two-bedroom, one-bath vacation getaway that sleeps three. It has a living area plus a fully furnished kitchen and a dining area making it perfect for early morning coffee or a home-cooked meal. Retro accessories used throughout provide a flashback to life in mid-century America.

The Amenities

The rental features a private fenced yard, covered patio, a gas fire pit, off street parking and laundry facilities.

When you are ready to venture out of the ’50s, Dos Palmas is located within walking distance of retail shops and galleries, restaurants and markets.

This place is adorable!

This place is adorable! Clean, plenty of space (two of us). Samantha went out of her way to make our visit special. I would definitely book here again, if only even to enjoy the nostalgia of this property. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!

Exactly the getaway we needed

Hesitant to write a public review for fear of this being rented next time I want to stay there. Very clean, great location, perfect for us. Y

Plenty of charm

I love Patagonia and lived here for 4 years. Coming back to visit, this was a perfect place to stay to match the charm and quirk of this town that I hold dear. The space was clean, well-kept, perfectly located and stylishly decorated. As is made perfectly clear in the listing, it's a trailer so you don't necessarily get the comfort or spaciousness or another type of dwelling. But as far as trailers go, this one has great appliances, functions perfectly, and has plenty of charm to boot. Thanks to the hosts for a great stay.

Dos Palmas will blow you away if you are expecting a trailer

Super base camp for enjoying the village, the mountains, the history.
